Mokuzai - Bordeaux
The Mokuzai project, an integral part of the development of the new Belvedere district in Bordeaux, represents a breakthrough in urban architecture. Designed as a gateway to the newly created quarter, the building challenges conventional approaches to urban planning. Utilizing the Building Information Modeling (BIM) environment, the project team effectively managed changes in the design, maintaining high efficiency and work organization.
The implementation of the project in Revit software facilitated the development of the concept for the facade, allowing for smooth modifications in response to strict regulations, client requirements, and budget constraints. Thanks to the integration of Revit with the Dynamo tool, it was possible to dynamically generate about 50 versions of the facade, enabling the realization of the client's and designers' vision in real-time.
Interdisciplinary coordination was another key aspect in which BIM demonstrated its value, minimizing the risk of errors and collisions during the construction phase. Among the numerous advantages of BIM applied in the project were:
- Immediate access to data on areas, components, and materials
- Compatibility of three-dimensional models with advanced architectural visualization programs
- Integration with Unreal Engine 5 for creating realistic virtual environments
- Current reviews of project concepts and their specifications
- Facilitated coordination of 3D models between designers and contractors
- Precise solar analysis of the structure
- The ability to interactively present the project in VR technology, supporting devices such as Oculus or Vive
Despite numerous challenges and obstacles, the Mokuzai project was successful due to the combination of experience, expertise, and cutting-edge IT technologies. The design phase was completed on schedule, bringing satisfaction to both the client and the project team with the final outcome.
The project was created in close collaboration with IT'S VISION.
