Red Line North
Coordination and BIM modeling of the architectural and landscape design of seven Red Line North subway stations
The Doha Metro is one of the most important projects in the Middle East in recent years, attracting the majority of the world's workforce. The project involves the development and construction of three lines (Red, Green, and Gold) with a total of 40 stations and a total length of 76 km. In the first phase of the metro network's development, the project was entrusted to UNStudio. An "Architectural Branding Manual" was developed, presenting typological station layouts through guidelines, details, and material selection to ensure the quality of the entire transport network design. The development of the executive designs was entrusted to different joint ventures for each metro line, which were responsible for layout development, detailing, project coordination, and construction execution.
Parallel Digital handled seven stations. Our task was BIM coordination from phase DD1 to phase M4 (with particular attention to the interior cladding design) of the architectural discipline, of a complex work team located in various cities around the world. The objectives were to facilitate workflow management, the production of LOD 300 models, and the extraction of graphic documents and quantity surveys.
