Amazon Sortation Centre Spilamberto
The building consists of a large, single manufacturing structure used as a warehouse, developed over two main levels, with an attached single-story office block. The warehouse spans two levels. Attached to this large volume are smaller structures, including two Truckers Lounges for temporary driver rest, two bathroom blocks located in the middle of the main block, and an office block of 2,600 square meters housing various functions.
The entire project is managed through a full BIM process, with the model regularly updated and 2D drawings also exported from the BIM model. The design activity continued with on-site assistance, following the various phases of the realization of different design disciplines. Connected to this interdisciplinary component is the BIM coordination activity, which covered all design phases, with particular attention to managing clash detection between disciplines. This phase extended even during the execution phase, up to the implementation of the logistics center, with the coordination of the as-built models.
